The Department of Agriculture (DA), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) and Agricultural Credit and Policy Council (ACPC)  released Survival and Recovery (SURE) Aid in Quirino province on November 8, 2019.

About 500 rice farmers covering all the six municipalities of Quirino had received their cards at Provincial Capitol, Cabarroguis, Quirino.

The distribution was spearheaded by DA-Regional Field Office No. 02 (DA-RFO 02) though its Quirino Experiment Station (QES), LBP and ACPC representatives.
Also present are Vice President Bernardo Bayangos and Lending Center Manager Ernesto Tumanut of LBP.

On behalf of the farmer recipients, Governor Dakila Carlo Cua expressed his appreciation to the credit assistance given by the government.
SURE Aid gives 15,000 pesos loan to qualified rice farmers payable in eight years, with zero interest and no collateral.

Aimed to help ease out the effect of the low price of palay, the program was introduced by Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar upon his assumption last August 2019.

Tomorrow, November 9, distribution in Cagayan province will be undertaken with Secretary Dar as the Guest of Honor. Distribution in Isabela was held last month.
