In line with the present thrust of Agriculture Secretary Dr. William Dar, the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. 02 (DA ROF 02) conducted an Investment Promotion for Agricultural Commodities aimed at attracting more potential investors in the new key players of agriculture of today, at the Highlander hotel and Resort, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya on  September 19, 2019.

“With his new battle cry, Dar emphasized that we must be able to make smallholder Filipino Famers and fisherfolk more prosperous with the ultimate goal of doubling their incomes with the tagline Masaganang Ani at Mataas na kita,” said Regional Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo talking to some 250 guests.

Cagayan Valley region prospers in the field of agriculture and natural resources that make it the best place for local and foreign investors. It is in this premise that an Investment Promotion for Agricultural Commodities is conducted to present available commodity investment areas and concepts to prospective investors.

Going to Cagayan Valley Region is easy. Whether through our 4 domestic and an international airport, efficient road networks and a Freeport zone transporting goods and services is not a problem.

“Through this program, the DA RFO 02 provides important production input support and also assist in the promotion and marketing of the products of farmers,” he added.

“Now is the best time to invest in the agriculture sector,” Ediilo stressed and he urged them to adopt the new technologies that the DA has developed to increase productivity, innovation and attract more investors.

DA RFO 02 promote these developments of various commodities by providing interventions under production and post-production segments of the various commodity value chains.

The emerging markets of priority commodities in the region were also used to match investors on their business need with a consultancy meeting with the marketing team from DA Agribusiness, Marketing, and Assistance Service.

The event was also an avenue to present the commodity investment concepts research and development outputs from research stations of DA Cagayan Valley.

The region’s agriculture abundance is owed to the farmers. The Cagayan Valley region is home of rich agriculture and prospering agribusiness in northern Luzon.
