The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 02 (DA-RFO 02) had culminated today the celebration of the agency’s 121st anniversary with numerous activities dubbed as “Employees Day.”

Among the highlights of the program was the giving of loyalty service awards to its employees who served the department in various years.

This marks the first time in previous years that DA-RFO 02 had undertaken such. About 150 employees were accorded the historical award.

In his speech, Regional Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo challenged that employees to keep moving from traditional to the modern way of thinking to cope up with the times and be productive.

“The previous years had brought us challenges but we kept our performance in greater heights,” he uttered.

“Though I came in late in the agency, I am equally happy because I was able to share in the achievements of our region in the agriculture sector.”

The day’s celebration had started with a fun ride wherein about two hundred bikers had participated.

This also marks the first time that cycling was undertaken.

The participants were given free assorted vegetable seeds, 10 kilos rice, t-shirts, and breakfast.

Employees also participated in a Zumba as another physical activity.

After the Zumba, a mass was undertaken with employees in their cultural attire.

To further give meaning to the celebration, DA-RFO 02 had also initiated the TienDA Malasakit Store so that its employees and consumers nearby will be given the chance to buy fresh and cheap agricultural products.
