The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. 02 (DA RFO 02), through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), officially opened the 3-day KADIWA Trade Fair and Exhibit today at Robinsons Place Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The event will run from April 10 to 12, 2025.

The activity is held in celebration of Filipino Food Month 2025, also known as Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino, with this year’s theme: “Sarap ng Pagkain Pilipino: Yaman ng ating Kasaysayan, Kultura, at Pagkatao.”

A total of thirty-eight exhibitors from across Region 02—representing the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino—are participating in the event. The exhibitors are showcasing a diverse range of fresh and processed agricultural products, including rice, corn, bananas, root crops, fresh vegetables, coffee, cacao, processed meats, fruit preserves, native snacks, fermented products, and locally produced condiments.

The KADIWA Trade Fair aims to strengthen direct market linkages between local farmers, fisherfolk, and consumers. It is part of DA’s continuing efforts to ensure access to affordable, fresh, and high-quality local food products while supporting the livelihood of small-scale producers and promoting regional food security.

This initiative underscores the importance of Filipino cuisine as a vital expression of the nation’s cultural identity, heritage, and agricultural abundance. The event also highlights the DA’s commitment to empowering local producers and fostering sustainable agribusiness opportunities in the region.
