March 25, 2025β€”In support of the ongoing effort to integrate the DA-PRDP tools and innovations into the regular programs of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. 02, the Philippine Rural Development Projectβ€”Regional Project Coordination Office 2, led by the Institutional Development Unit (IDU), conducted a consultative meeting cum orientation on the mainstreaming of PRDP tools and innovations at the DA RFO 02 Technology Commercialization Conference Hall.

The activity was designed to allow sharing of information on the updates and developments of the implementation of the PRDP innovation and tools, to address relevant issues and concerns, and to identify PRDP tools and innovations that can be possibly integrated and institutionalized in the regular programs of the department.

Dr. Roberto C. Busania, RTD for Operations and Extension and PRDP RPCO 2 IDU Head, presented an overview of the PRDP tools and innovations for mainstreaming.

The tools and innovations presented include the Operations Manual for Infrastructure Support; Climate-proofed Technical Planning Parameters for Rural Infrastructures; Operations Planning and Budgeting Guidelines; Enhanced Vulnerability and Suitability Analysis (EVSA); Value Chain Analysis (VCA); Methodology for Business Planning; Geo-mapping; Social and Environmental Safeguards (SES) Manual; Grievance/Citizen Monitoring and Feedback Mechanism System; and National Farm-to-Market Road Network Plan.

In his message, he shared five (5) key essentials in mainstreamingβ€”proper coordination, sharing of funds, consistent reporting of progress, proper documentation of success stories, and adaptation to setbacks, if any.

Likewise, in her message, Director Kay S. Olivas, RTD for Research and Regulations and PRDP RPCO 2 Deputy Project Director, encouraged the maximum participation and support of the Banner Program coordinators in this undertaking.

She emphasized the good practices of the PRDP, using its tools and innovations, which led to the successful implementation of projects.

Atty. Jaycee Capalungan from the SES Unit, Ms. May-Ann Revocal from the I-PLAN Component, Engr. Marah Gille Balbas from the Farm-to-Market Development Project (Geo-mapping and Governance Unit), Engr. Emilio Andres Jr. from the I-BUILD Component, Mr. Laurence Donida from the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Unit, and Ms. Ma. Rosario U. Paccarangan, I-REAP Component Head, served as resource persons in the orientation.

Representatives from the different PRDP RPCO 2 components/units and Banner Program coordinators were the participants during the activity.
