Farmers and fishers’ produce can now be delivered online through the E-Kadiwa right at your doorsteps, which launched today, May 8, 2020, at the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Office Multi-Purpose Cooperative Building, San Gabriel, Tuguegarao City.
“Cagayan Valley is one of the first regions in the country to heed the call of Agriculture Secretary William Dar to make farmers’ harvest available online,” said DA Regional Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo.
The process is easy and safe because consumers enjoy ordering online without leaving the comforts of their home.
“In this way, you are helping our farmers, fishers, and agriprenuers to market their produce at the same time containing the spread of coronavirus disease 2019,” said Edillo.
The hassle-free transaction can be accomplished in three (3) steps: place your order through SMS, messenger or email; after placing your order, wait for confirmation, and the sellers will deliver it to you with a minimal delivery fee and a minimum order of 200 pesos.
Our consumers can order assorted vegetables, meat, fish, eggs, fried fish, spices, processed meats, fruits, groceries, and local food products from local agripreneurs like a chocolate drink (tablea), pineapple vinegar among others.
The DA Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) has partnered with the DA Region 02 Multi-Purpose Cooperative to help more farmers in linking their products in this trying time.
Soon, the ‘eKadiwa’ digital marketing app that links farm producers to consumers will be available for downloads in the Philippines.
