In its quest to fight climate change, the Department of Agriculture Regional Field OFffice No. 02 (DA RFO 02) holds tree planting activity in its research center.
Yesterday, January 30, 2020, also marked the birthday of Regional Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo as the region’s visionary for agriculture.
Edillo graced the continuous site development of the DA Southern Cagayan Research Center- Cagayan Breeding Station (SCRC-CBS) in Solana, Cagayan, with the employees who joined him in this cause to mitigate the effect of climate change in the region and the country as a whole.
The region is vulnerable in the said problem that our farmers are more affected by this plight. “I know that the opportunity to impact change is on our hands even if it is the smallest act,” he added.
“I can’t thank you enough for your greetings and wishes. But I will be more than happy and fulfilled if we all work together for the development of the agriculture sector in Cagayan Valley,” he said. “Let us continue to be efficient public servants by being humble, always ready to extend help to our clients, and respectful to our partner stakeholders.”
Last year, DA RFO 02 also conducted the same activity. Edillo hopes to make this a yearly undertaking mainly that Cagayan Valley is prone to calamities such as typhoons and flashfloods that significantly affect the agriculture sector.
