The Women’s Cooperative Officers and the Local Government Unit of Alcala, Cagayan, visited the Cagayan Valley Research Center (CVRC) on January 23, 2020, to see the thriving research center of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Office 02.

The said town, with its vision in finding more possibilities and opportunities to improve its products through the CVRC, went on to an informative tour.

Alcala Mayor Cristina I. Antonio asked the help of DA to develop their products such as white corn, peanut, vegetables, and ornamentals. As the center for Corn and Peanut, the DA CVRC exclusive toured the team to see first hand the innovations and possible interventions that they can get.

The team also visited the facilities of the center, such as the Food Processing Center wherein they saw the different food products developed, CVRC Annex as the tourist farm, and the Regional Product Display Center.

They were composed of offices and organizations of the municipality, such as staff from Sangguniang Bayan, Municipal Engineering Office, Municipal Agriculturist Office, and members from Women Organizations.
