Top finance and budget officials of the Department of Agriculture (DA) visited the DA regional and provincial offices in Cagayan Valley to see and experience the best practices and the ease of doing business in a government agency where quality service is attributed to facilities, equipment and world-class customer service.

DA Usec. for Finance Atty. Francisco M. Villano Jr. led the group of some 100 DA employees, its bureaus and attached agencies which started on February 25 in the Nueva Vizcaya Experiment Station (NVES), Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya and ended today, March 1, 2019 at the Southern Cagayan Research Center (SCRC), Iguig, Cagayan.

DA Regional Office 02 (DA RFO 02) Regional Executive Director Narciso A. Edillo carried out the importance of working together to attain an end goal in this agency.

“You have learned that through the years the budget for RFO 02 has been used to build world-class facilities that both farmers and stakeholders can enjoy,” he said.

Asked on his comment on how the agency thrived despite the budget that has been given to RFOs, Edillo said that a more strategic and visible planning to use the money was formed.

Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Regional Technical Director for Operations Dr. Roberto C. Busania welcomed the participants to their site visit in Quirino Experiment Station (QES) Aglipay, Quirino this week.

OIC Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulatory Rosemary G. Aquino welcomed them at the Cagayan Valley Research Center (CVRC), City of Ilagan.

He stressed that financial management is a core of every government agencies and institution on implementing projects and programs.

The visit was to showcase the best practices of DA RFO 02 not only on budget spending, but also its physical accomplishment.

Majority of attendees praised the sights they saw and experienced in some of our agri-tourism sites in provincial locations and projects on the grounds. #
