To discuss the credit programs of the government and establish Loan Facilitation Teams (LOFT) to assist prospective applicants, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office No. 02 (DA-RFO 02) today conducts an orientation to stakeholders at DA-MPC Conference Hall, San Gabriel, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
According to OIC-Regional Technical Director Roberto C. Busania, the activity is very timely since credit is one of the priorities of the department.
He encouraged the participants from local government units, farmer associations, cooperatives, agri-fishery councils, DA research centers and attached agencies such as Agricultural Credit and Policy Council (ACPC), Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), and Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) to help disseminate the programs to prospective applicants.
“We need to educate our farmers and fishers of these loan windows for them to cope up with these hard times,” he said.
“Let us teach them to become productive through diversified farming and other livelihood undertakings by availing loans with very minimal interests.”
Among the credit programs the department now offering are Production Loan Easy Access (PLEA), Farm Equipment Loan Program, Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (ACEF) and Survival and Recovery (SURE) Program.
Interested parties may coordinate with their Provincial and City/Municipal Agriculturist, nearest DA research stations, ACPC, LBP, PCIC and bank conduits who composed the loan facilitation teams.
