The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. 2 has awarded LGU Saguday, Quirino a ₱4.6 million Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) Project on June 10, 2026, to strengthen the town’s sheep industry.

The package includes a modern sheep housing facility, biologics, 25 ewes, and 2 rams. The project is designed to build shared infrastructure, provide breeding support, and create market linkages that lower production costs for local growers.

“Once the flock increases in number, these will be distributed to identified FCAs and individual beneficiaries,” said Municipal Agriculturist Diomelson Vicmudo.

By giving farmers access to better sheds, feed storage, and veterinary services, the project helps them raise healthier sheep with fewer losses and higher income. It also reinforces Saguday’s livestock sector, creates more stable livelihoods, and positions the municipality as an emerging hub for sustainable sheep production in Quirino Province.
