The Department of Regional Field Office No. 2 (DA RFO 2), on Tuesday, September 1, joined the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on its 120th anniversary with a theme.”Philippine Civil Service @ 120: Public Sector in the Age of Digital Transformation.”

The theme underscores the use of emerging technologies to pursue efficient public service delivery in the Philippine government, especially in emergencies.

CSC Chairperson Alicia de la Rosa congratulated all civil service personnel in serving the people.

“In the age of technology, public service has to remain competitive and responsive enough to meet the evolving needs of its clientele,” she added.

On her video message uploaded on CSC’s official youtube account, she stressed that Human Resource (H.R.) management and development are also evolving as technology introduces new interactions and alternative work arrangements.

It was further highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic situation, which brought about changes to work, government-client transactions, and other processes.

As the Philippine Government’s premier human resource institution, the CSC will spearhead the month-long celebration.

Regional Technical Director for Research, Regulatory, and Administration Concerns said that the DA RFO 02 supports and congratulates the CSC in delivering the best and guiding the civil servants in the country.

“We in DA is always, always guided by the CSC in maintaining a pool of government employees who serve for the farmers and fishers. Once again congratulations on your 120th founding anniversary.”

However, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, CSC will prioritize technology-driven activities that promote social distancing and precautionary measures to comply with the national government’s initiatives. Annual events such as the R.A.C.E. to Serve Fun Run and Government Choral Competition are suspended this year.
